Understanding Camera Settings

Camera Settings Explained

When using a camera, understanding the various settings is crucial for capturing the best images. Key settings include ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. Adjusting these settings allows photographers to control exposure and depth of field.

ISO

ISO measures the sensitivity of your camera's sensor to light. A lower ISO is ideal for bright conditions, while a higher ISO is useful in low light. However, higher ISO can introduce noise into your images.

Aperture

Aperture controls the amount of light entering the lens. A wider aperture (lower f-number) allows more light and creates a shallow depth of field, which is great for portraits. A smaller aperture (higher f-number) increases depth of field, making it suitable for landscapes.
